Fire departments from Westport, Fort Bragg, Albion/ LittleRiver, Comptche and Mendocino came together April 30 for a training drill. Firefighters were only told they would be responding to a crash involving a car and a loaded school bus. As with a real incident involving multiple patients, the closest agency responded first, followed by neighboring agencies. A triage area was set up near the crash scene and victims were treated and transported, based on their medical priority.
About 50 firefighters took part in the training.
