He did this at every concert. He would give his band a break, but he never left the stage for the entire show. I had the immense pleasure of seeing this man in concert several times, and will never forget him.
My very first concert was John Denver in the '70s. I saw him with my parents, and it is one of my favorite childhood memories.
All these years later, I still tear up when I hear this song, and remember that he's gone.
I'll miss you forever, John.

there is no better love song than this. Love is a feeling but the lyrics of this song describes the sensation of love so so beautifully. Simply, a phenomenal song sung by a wonderful performer.

@sandhorse1 When my kids were babies, my hubby & I would hold them, sing & dance w/them to John Denver. He'd also call me and sing to me while driving for work. God, I miss that man:-( R.I.P. to both JD and GRD <3

@GnonplussedGnome We all have the memories of lost ones because of J D and his way with words. Thanks as always!!
In 1976 I was just five years old when my parents took our family on a three-month trip out west. Over thousands of miles of highway, John Denver's 8-track tapes played 'til they were nearly worn through. I feel blessed beyond measure that many of my earliest memories are of the love of my family experiencing the outdoors, John Denver's music describing the same, and the stunning scenery of the American west.

This was played on 9 Feb 1979 at the wedding of my late wife and I by friends, Corky and Terri, Corky has since passed through the veil as has my wife but like then now it still brings tears to my eyes to hear it again.
