There is a lot of controversy about the origin of this song...
This great tune has been traced to as early as 1908 to Molla Ottoman Al Mouseli to celebrate a girl from an affluent Iraqi family called Al Chalabi Family...
It has been sung by many, most prominently Sayed Darweesh, the great Fairuz... and many others...

Whats funny or may be sad... is that almost every nation in the middle-east thinks the song is its... !!!
