How to Change Joomla 1.7 Category Blog to User Defined Order

The client requested information on how to update and manage the ordering of a directory list using Joomla 1.7's category blog layout. There are a couple of places that this can be accomplished. One is in the Parameters or Global Settings for Blog style layouts. The other is what is shown here in this screencast / tutorial, which is to set everything to override the Global Settings.
First, change the menu item to be the proper display you want.
Second, we want to tell Joomla how to order the articles by the ordering column directly.

After this video was completed, I moved the "leading" article with the Leadership information to the Category description and told the Menu Manager item to display the category description. This way, the client can have an easier time ordering the new articles without worrying about the information at the top of the page.
