A brief guide on Aperture, Depth of Field and Diffraction effects with HD camcorders and lenses. Primarily aimed at users of Sony XDCAM products but applicable to most pro HD camcorders.
why didn't I come across this when I was trying to understand DoF & Diffraction. As much as I have read online.. This is the best .. THE BEST explanation.
Thank you for going out of your way to CLEARLY explain this :D
on my camcorder i never adjust the dof because to do so i must adjust the iris which makes the picture way too dark, at f2.8 in a really bright room it's pitch black..how do i fix this?
Great explanation. I was shooting some igloo building a couple of weeks ago and wished I'd had an external ND filter as I hear that on the my camera (Panny HMC40) the automatic ND filter is not strong enough. I didn't realize that it may of caused the footage to be softer, thanks for the explanation.
THANK YOU!

If you are reffering to the camera he was using, it's the sony ex3 and they have 1/2 inch cmos sensors.
