Review: Here's the super hard to find horror film from the 80's, now available in a rare widescreen edition. The "Boogens" are scaly monsters that look somewhat like giant turtles with lots of sharp, nasty teeth. They are released from an abandoned, boarded-up silver mine in Colorado and proceed to do away with all who get in their way. Upgraded Print! Widescreen, in English, no subtitles. Quality A-

Directed by: James L. Conway

Starring: Fred McCarren

  • @hare122275 Me too. Couldn't take a single shower without peeking out the shower curtain multiplie times looking for Boogens in my bathroom.

  • this movie scared the sh^t out of me as a kid...

  • Those darn throat-slashing octopus Boogen-things!!

  • I remember this movie scaring the Hell outta me when I was 8 years old. In retrospect, it's a bit hokey -but fun.

  • This guy isn't Dana Carvey is it? Sure favors him.

  • I still have this movie on VHS when I bought it years ago. I haven't watched it in some time but yes, I remember them looking like big turtles with tentacles. I was 12 when this movie came out and it freaked me out pretty good.

  • they reminded me of gamera only with tentacles...sabretooth octoturtles?

  • I saw this when I was 5 and loved it....they are less like turtles and more like octopuses. They have 4 extremely long tentacles with hooks on the end...and they have 2 eyes and mouths with rows of razor sharp teeth, like a human head...They are actually not very large and more the size of a medium dog but really powerful.

  • Yes you do, they don`t look too hot to say the least, but the tension etc in the film more than makes up for this. Can`t wait till this gets a proper dvd release.
