  • the Gov't and other entity's raised a big stink over Arch ownin that mine, is a big reason why they gave it to peabody..but, Peabody doesn't have their name on it, it's called WRRI (don't know right at the moment what it stands for)

  • as for North Rochelle, it was called that during it's Triton years. as far as i know, that mine is still idled. i worked at NARM for about 5 months before i got hired on at Jacobs, i ran dirt in the north pits, and during that time i ran in the west pit only once, and that was just doin odd jobs with a labor crew..yep i was in a truck and they were doin the dirty work LOL

  • oh ok. how are things doing there? i worked on crew 3 overburden west pit during my short lived tenure there. you in dirt of coal?

  • North Antelope Rochelle

  • oh ok, School Creek. i knew Thunder owned that at one time. i didnt know it was called "North" Rochelle, as in North of the Rochelle Mine that was bought by Peabody and combined with North Antelope to make North Antelope Rochelle. iv only lived in Wy for about 1 1/2 years so i'm still learning all this stuff. thanks for the bit of history. you said you headed south? what mine are you at now?

  • North Rochelle was owned by Triton Coal Co. It was bought out by Arch a little over 5 years Ago.Arch ran it into the ground calling it south black thunder. Peabody then won the lease right next to it, and Arch sold it to Peabody Calling it School Creek mine.

  • at the moment i don't recall who took North Rochelle ( i think it's a part of Peabody tho). i was wishin that Jacobs would be a part of CPE but workin for Arch ain't been bad so far

  • who took over north rochelle? i just got laid off from North Antelope Rochelle who is owned by Peabody (i was a temp). worked at Rawhide before that. now i'm starting at South Antelope for Cloud Peak Energy (formerly Rio Tinto). i knew thunder bought Jacob's Ranch.

  • well, 2 months into bein an Arch employee, i have found it to be not bad, at least i'm still workin LOL

  • no but probably by the 1st of October..i ain't lookin forward to it, but as long as i still have a job, i'll be happy..but i ain't happy about workin for Arch, due to their safety record
