The research into the spatial aspect of cognition results in practical psychotherapeutic tools. Like the Personal Timeline and The Social Panorama. Lucas Derks is a social psychologist who works for The International Laboratory for Mental Space Research. (Holland, Germany and Austria) NLP is one of the sources of research tools in this area.

  • NLP has been playing with and successfully using all of these observations about how people create and maintain their 'subjective reality' for the last 25 years or more. Given what I've said, I would hardly call this the "latest thinking". Clean Language and Clean Space as developed by David Grove is an even more explicit exploration of how space functions in a persons subjective reality. Although fascinatiing, Mr. Derks has described nothing new to my mind.

Mr. Derks is involved in NLP since 1977; so you are right! His first publication on this theme dates from 1995.
