You won't get the truth from Glenn Beck and you won't get the truth from Kevin Horan. They are both full of it. The reason insurance companies charge high premiums is because medical costs are high. It's that simple. And Medicare is not in good shape, it's on a collision course to insolvency.

A good article to read that explains the problem is "The Cost Conundrum". It's a New Yorker article, Google it and learn. U won't get the truth from righties and lefties that push their twisted agenda.

Hey Kevin. I just wanted to say, I live in the UK, where we have a nationalised healthcare system, and for us it's not too bad, based on my own experiences. One thing I don't get is that one conservative argument is that less people will train to be doctors due to the lower pay. However, the NHS is the largest employer in Europe, and may of my friends are training to become doctors.

Also, I just wanted to say that when I watch American news, they always seem to be so biased on both sides.

no kidding! we Americans are a bunch of doofuses with the world laughing at us. We have money to fight wars, but not to cover the basics for our population. Go figure! Our political lobby's are very powerful and our legislators are prostitutes to these pimps. Hopefully Obama may put these people in their place!

amen! My wife has heart problems, so can't get ins., and was turned down for Medicaid. And we can't afford to pay $1000/month for the high risk pool and out of pocket copays/deductibles, because we were both laid off. So she isn't getting the care she needs. We spend $700 billion/year on being the world's policeman but yet we can't even take care of our own people? Sad and pathetic. These tools like Beck and Limbaugh can pay cash for medical srvs; they don't have a dog in this hunt.

Too bad Joe Lieberman has the power to destroy a government run public health system. Even though roughly 65 to 70% of Connecticutians want a public option Joe doesn't care he has, private health care lobbyists paying him a book to write and millions of republicans to sell it to. I say that as it is the nail in his political coffin when he votes to stop this bill passing.

i like how you refer to the people on the "news" channels as "performers...

I worked for CVS/Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician and I quit after 4 years of turning people away for not having medical insurance/enough money to pay for their meds...people who need 30 day supplies but only purchase 10-15 day supplies and take half pills, which decreases the affect of the meds and treatment....the worst was a lady who was paying $1500 a month w/credit card cuz her insurance didnt cover the meds...

What do you want, a ten thousand word essay? You made a lot of points that were incorrect, but I didn't want to bother arguing them. So I provided an article that goes into this problem in depth. The right and left only spin and say nothing.

You're in the insurance field. Why does one week in the hospital cost over $100,000? That's not what the insurance company charges, that's what the hospital charges. It's the high medical costs that have to be addressed.

Sadly I'm afraid things won't get fixed with our presidents attitude towards it and all the lies that are being believed. But who knows.
