  • For Your Information, Oil Palm is not destructive to environment. Firstly, It is a tree therefore it gives off oxygen to us. Secondly, It gives good shade , keeps land maintain its moisture. Thirdly, a good source for employment from planting to cultivation to harvest. Lastly, an alternative source of OIL- biodiesel helps grow Philippine Economy for Export inviting foreign investors to spend money here in our country..

  • In the Philippine situation , I think the issue of transforming forests to palm oil industry is not that worst that Malaysia and Indonesia. Most Farmers or planters here in the Philippines opt to plant oil palm only those cultivated land and not the forests... Since Philippines is prone to typhoons , crops such as rice and corns especially in Mindanao cannot survive or give good profit after devastation, only OIL palm can withstand this calamities-in my own opinion..

  • Phillipines does not have much oil so oil palm biodiesel will also be saving the country $billions in oil imports

  • There are many other sustainable alternatives that are less destructive to our ancient rain forests. Don't be fooled by this narrow minded thinking that palm oil will save our country from poverty.

  • Palm oil may have its short term benifits which is attractive however palm oil plantations such as these are responsible for millions of hectares rain forrest destruction that we can already witness in Indonesia and Malaysia.

As you can tell the farmer does not even know the use of the palm oil he plants which just further provides evidence of corruption and exploitation of big corporation.

Avoid buying products with palm oil such as soaps sold by companies like dove.

  • This is the reason why separatists wants the lands. After the non-separatists cultivated the lands, they wanted to take it by force. they are just jealous, envious.

do not support MOA-AD! disarm MILF and let the claws of the law put fear in the hearts of all filipinos so that criminals will have to think twice before they will plan their crime.

  • Globalisation ? make your stomach full first....then only you are qualified to talk, like Western countries...

  • can somebody tell me the exact location of 1000 hectares in north cotabato? i mean the exact town..thanks....

  • Globalization is the future, we just have to make our products competitive through technolgy.. nstead of fighting it we should strive and adapt to this change nstead of dwelling in the past.
