What's impressive here is that he's improvising over no chords and it sounds like something that would be composed. Take what he is improvising here and add a backing track to it that would fit to what he is playing and you would have your self an awesome song.
Most people don't realize that the backing track makes the melody what it is in a song.

Actually, saying its top 5 guitar vid is based on fact rather than opinion. Although I refute that it is correct. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion of course, but deciding what is top 5 is not opinion.

what I love about Mr. Vinnie Moore here is that while he is a kickass shredder, he doesn't forget about THE MUSIC. he still makes it really enjoyable to listen to even if you know nothing about guitar.
