WASHINGTON DC - Senator Al Franken makes his opening statement in the confirmation hearings for Judge Sonia Sotomayor to become a Justice in the United States Supreme Court.

Franken expressed concern that the US Supreme Court had not expressed proper deference to Congressional laws and that individuals' rights had become imperiled by too many decisions in the favor of large interests.

  • I couldnt agree with you more, Franken is gonna be a great senator. Limbaugh would have no chance in hell of becoming a senator. I'm proud as a Minnesotan having him represent us.

  • Al Franken is a genius

  • acorn is controlled by the devil and they kill babies and use there blood for there to give to obama to keep him alive

  • Yeah, yeah. I know. ACORN is the cause of every problem. Cancer, obesity, war, boogie monsters, Big Foot, that bad Chinese food I had for dinner, the C+ you got on your history exam, high cell phone bills, high gas prices, and corny sitcoms. It's all ACORNs fault. :)

  • Agreed. And I can't stand those who say electing Franken on the left would be the same as electing Limbaugh on the right. Franken is going to be pragmatic, deliberate, and well versed on every issue that is put on his desk. Limbaugh would be nothing more than a loud-mouth bully on the senate floor...not that he would ever be elected in the first place.
