Organizing a spooky Halloween party inspired by classic literature can be a fun experience. For this video, Pottery Barn's style expert Jeffrey Moss has based the theme of his Halloween party on Washington Irving's famous book "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow". He shares a few tips about organizing parties based on classic literature.

According to Jeffrey, literature inspired Halloween parties are easier to organize since they come with a guiding theme. To add more spooky features to your book theme Halloween party, Jeffrey suggests using Halloween string lights and lanterns filled with battery powered candles that last all night. The inclusion of warning signs and grave stones with customized names makes the party look like an extension of the book's plotline.

Just like the spooky surroundings, Jeffrey insists on creepy-looking food and seemingly-poisonous drinks too! Food shaped like severed fingers, skewers posing with red-colored drops and fake eyeballs in your wine glass can make the picture complete.

Jeffrey also recommends limiting the Halloween decorations to a particular area in your home rather than letting it take over the entire surroundings. The use of headless portraits and Halloween masks is another way of adding more spooky features to your Halloween party.
