I like that kicking drill you're doing at 2:23

@ibuchanan82 I agree also it stands to reason that since tiger crane and wing chun came from the same few people that methods of training crossed over

You've got great potential. Doing 3 star training on a wooden man right out the gate... Good man! Just something to keep in mind, even when you're just beginning: Move from your root. Even when you're doing this training, hit a solid stance and move to another one. This will build your foundation and will connect your power from the ground to your waist to your hand. Great job though!!! Keep it up! And if anyone asks, all of the moves you're doing are from Gong Ji Fook Fu.

@Malik0403 I want to ban the world "fail" from the internet. Explain why you don't like it. Just writing "fail" is pointless.

@B0ngHitta Praying mantis, Choy Lee Fut, Hung Gar and Wing Chun all have wooden dummy training. On top of that, EVERY kung fu style is a mix of some earlier fighting methods: CHOY (Gar) Li (Gar) Fut (Gar) as an example. Hell most Hung Gar schools have Lau Gar Kuen mixed in with their Hung Gar forms.

You guys are correct. The dummy is not exclusive to Wing Chun. It is used in several styles and schools. It is Southern Shaolin training tool used in almost every style of Sounthern Chinese Kung Fu. I've seen them in several Kenpo schools, Kali, and even in a Krav Maga school in downtown LA.

And to finish off rub your hands and arms in my concotion of poo and wee! NICE.

How much do these private lessons cost? How did you take them?
-
Fail.

check out my hung gar videos! :D
I don't see any problem with using a Wing Chun tool with Hung Gar techniques. Even if it ican't be called hung gar anymore, it is still training to improve your power and technique which may be useful in a situation.

If I can say, without causing too much trouble, I don't believe the "wing chun" dummy is of wxclusive wing chun origin. Certainly wing chun HAS made it there own. But it is more likely that the dummy was used by most southern styles, which explains the hung gar techniques that work exlusively on the apperatus as will other systems. also out of convenience it's easier to get a wing chun dummy here than it is to get a "hung Gar" dummy

Your right. When I kick fast enough the buttons undo themselves. :)
A game I play is telling a partner EXACTLY which attack I am going to do, and where it's going to hit. Then they TRY to block me. I can't wait to post more videos.
BTW, lets make peace. As fun as ripping into complete strangers can be :P

Yet another Englishman who feels he can corrupt an art and call it Hung Gar.
This is 'cross training' in a sense: this particular wooden man is NOT EVEN A HUNG GAR TOOL. It is a wing chun tool.
When a 'sifu' starts mixing and matching things from different systems, he is no longer teaching the art. He is teaching an amalgamation of techniques.
This is not Hung Gar. This is a british know it all who talks alot but knows nothing.

Says the guy who cant keep his trousers buttoned while kicking a bag.
The wooden dummy is a chinese tool, used by Wing chun artists but has always been used by hung gar artists as well, Don't have to believe me, watch video's of Lau Kar Leung one of the greatest living masters of Hung Gar, Kung Fu, and indead Martial Arts as a whole.
Indeed hung gar and Wing Chun are cousin styles so you will find elements of both systems in each.
I'm not English I'm Scottish you dolt.
