"Memories of a lost companion to the Time War comes to the Doctor during the aftermath of the Master's reappearance. As it turns out, Romana, the last Lady President of Gallifrey has been there all along, in the form of a human. The result of the Year That Never Was has made her wary of strange memories, though they seem hazy like a dream. However, with such a content human life, she is reluctant to tear herself away, so the Doctor stays in the background, observing gently, until finally, "Fred" opens the watch and her eyes to her true self."

Okay, based mostly on my roleplay profile of Romana, in a fourth regeneration as hinted in the Doctor Who novels she escaped the Time War. I used the image of Mia Kirshner for Romana IV, and Louise Brooks as Romana III as the physical appearance of Romana III in the novels was based on the actress Louise Brooks herself.

This is just a Fan-Made video, and therefore I own NOTHING. All I did was edit, there is NO, I repeat, NO, copyright infringement intended. Doctor Who belongs to the BBC ( Lucky Bastards ) and clips of The L Word belong to Showtime, and clips of Mia Kirshner's guest appearance on 24 belong to Fox.

The Clips of Louise Brooks are from the movie "Pandora's Box" or "Lulu."

Hope you enjoy watching this as much as I enjoyed making it. Please comment. =)

  • Hi! Can you tell me which episode it is at 0:15?

  • @iloveabba100 Ah, with Tom Baker and Lalla Ward? That would be State of Decay, the second story in the E-Space Trilogy. Also the first scene I ever saw of Romana, and where I pretty much fell in love with the character.

  • Can you tell me from which episode of Doctor who this girl is?

    3:37

  • Sure, however, that isn't an episode of Doctor Who. The girl, Mia Kirshner, played the character of Jenny Schecter in the now done series, The L Word.

  • I love this video...what are the clips of that are not from Doctor Who?....The 4th Doctor and Romana plus Snow Patrol..brilliance beyond measure..and the video...beautifully edited....

  • Why thank you =D

And that's footage from "The L Word" where Mia Kirshner played "Jenny Schecter." Hope that helps some?

  • You two are not alone in this. The Doctor is a 900-year-old TIME LORD, which means he's a member of a species so far advanced of humans that he would look at them about the same way I look at dogs - friendly, lovable, nice to have around...but NOT romantically. If you look at the way the earlier Doctors acted toward their companions, it's pretty clear he looked on them as pets; except for Romana, the only one who, as a TIME LADY, was ever his equal.

  • Now that Davies is gone there could be a chance of Romana coming back.

If they bring memorable characters back:

The only ones left who could support a story arc are:

    Romana

    The Rani

    Omega

    The Black Guardian

  • @exclusiveforus

then have him do it already

  • @MagicKirin Moffat said in an interviw once "I would even find a way to get Romana out of E-Space." or something like that. The point is that hee has thought about it and thinks that she is alive.

  • the part where she opens the watch and remembers who she was and who she is gets to me everytime, because the instrumental music in that part is so damn powerful it makes me want to cry, even when i'm just listening to the song and not the video...because it makes me think about Romana, the best companion to ever grace the Doctor and his TARDIS with her presence.

the emotions of the love between these two hit me right in the heart when i watch this.

  • @Jamestopboy I completely agree. Romana wasn't, to the Doctor, a child or pet to be protected, but an equal. Even if she did need rescuing every once in a while, she still was quite capable of pulling the Doctor's bacon out of the fire on occasion.

  • @carnivalofmonsters Hehe... Matt Smith is rapidly kicking his way up to level with Pertwee in my eyes (and that's saying a LOT) If we got to see him with Idris... *cough* I mean ROMANA, that would be the most amazing thing in the history of ever.

  • Thank you.

You have brought tears to my eyes.

    This is hard to do.

I always loved the Doctor and Romana together; they had such a certain something... it was beautiful and wonderful and there are very few things that have saddened me as much as her decision to remain in E-Space.

    This is BEAUTIFUL.
