I heard that a fruit tree needs cross pollination. I see that you are pollinating the same tree with its own. Is there any specific rule for that. thanks.

Thanks for the reply. Some fruit trees are self pollinating. Some need another variety to cross pollinate. When u buy the tree it will say on the label if it needs a pollinator or it is self pollinating. A fruit tree will have a better quality of fruit to have it cross pollinated, even if it is self fertile. I no longer have to pollinate like that anymore. I have a bee hive in my yard to do my work for me. The cotton swab works, i have 80 to a 100 peaches on that one tree. Thanks for watching.
