Having several fruit trees, there are no bugs to pollinate. Decided i was gonna try something. Grabbed a cotton swab, and pollinated the trees myself. Don't know if it worked i guess i will find out this summer

  • Thanks for the reply. Some fruit trees are self pollinating. Some need another variety to cross pollinate. When u buy the tree it will say on the label if it needs a pollinator or it is self pollinating. A fruit tree will have a better quality of fruit to have it cross pollinated, even if it is self fertile. I no longer have to pollinate like that anymore. I have a bee hive in my yard to do my work for me. The cotton swab works, i have 80 to a 100 peaches on that one tree. Thanks for watching.

  • I heard that a fruit tree needs cross pollination. I see that you are pollinating the same tree with its own. Is there any specific rule for that. thanks.
