I have a coin (besides a "chip") that I carry in my pocket everyday for years that says, "attitude is everything." And certainly gratitude IS an action. We take care of things we're grateful for which includes ourselves. I think once I accepted myself as a miracle, seeing them everyday was much easier. Great interview, thanks for sharing.

Following your passion, great advice. My problem was most of my life my "passion" was pleasure which lead to some pretty self-destructive passions. Hey, live and learn though.
My passions today are service, travel, SCUBA diving, and writing.

this is truth: not only one can have fun time on the beach .... most of us work and we try to make it... to have gratitude is wonderful and so important and enjoy every moment that is giving to us.
Perhaps Sands could just teach surfing to some of the less fortunate and from it to grow and give those people hope and fun and the feeling of freedom and be in the moment.. He has a good heart and he could do wonderful things from his passion.
