Of course they're not fighting for your freedom. The British retreated hundreds of years ago. You've been free since then. All other cries of "fighting for your freedom" are nothing more than propaganda. You're not under any credible threat of subjugation whatsoever.
They're fighting for resources. Damn those middle easterners for sitting on your oil! How did it wind up under their soil anyway?

I agree 100%

@SkySoldierMike88 is it freedom if they never asked for what we have? and who's said what we have is better.
-
@SkySoldierMike88 How are you fighting for the freedoms of other people when the US has supported dictatorships for decades? Plus none of the people in those countries like the US.
-
I agree
-
@SkySoldierMike88 That is the most insane retard logic I've ever heard. What does that even mean someone have to pay for attacking us? So if someone broke into my house and killed my wife, would it then be okay for me to kill someone in your family. I mean...someone has to pay.

@DarkBunnyLord Oil pricing is a complicated game. This is more about keeping the oil flowing.
-
@ChipArgyle That sounds perfectly sound and logical, but the results don't reflect it at all with vastly expanded oil prices form imported oil.
-
@DarkBunnyLord It's not quite that simple. Iraq War part II was largely revenge because Saddam tried to off Dubya's daddy. And if the US can go into the middle east and kick some poor country's ass, even one that doesn't even export that much oil, then the other countries will tend to play ball a little better when it comes to oil export negotiations, won't they. It's an intimidation game. Do you think they would be there if there wasn't any oil for the taking?
-
@ChipArgyle While I agree I don't think it was for freedom, I have a really hard time believing it was for oil. I mean how long have we been in Iraq and we have yet to claim a single oil field.
So I get what your saying, in the literal sense of not fighting for your freedom. Its the idea of Freedom we fight for, why can't other people have what we have? and why shouldn't they? Wars are all fought for reasons and if you ask me someone had to pay for attacking us and killing innocent Americans. Those people have and now it's just helping them achieve what we have true freedom.

@SkySoldierMike88 and why do you think there are anti-american terrorists in the first place? do you think it has anything to do with our government's support of dictators in oil-rich countries?

I see you point good ones at that, but it's a process, we are fighting for freedoms of other people, i;ve see this with my own eyes, they don't show all the good things that happen on TV my friend which is why I don't really watch the news anymore other then catch on recent events. lol and you cant just drop troops in every country and settle there conflicts for them. there has got to be a reason, we had legitimate reasons even if other reasons overshadow them, War makes money i won't deny that.

@Gyratedotorg Do you not support troops at home? USAF radar tech here and all I do is watch borders from foreign planes and missiles .
