I just got my 08' G37 back from the dealer , I brought it in telling them of an annoying buzzing and pinging noise from the exhaust that I really thought was coming from the Cats, So they change the muffler to a new one still under warranty, and the whole ride home the exact same noise ..... When I reached home I stuck my leg under the car while it was running and kicked the cat converter and that's where the noise was coming from ... When I kicked it , the sound amplified .

one of the bolts is loose that connect the exhaust pipe to the muffler, my suv had the same problem with the left header, i fixed it myself cause my dealership couldnt find the source

Mine is doing the same thing, Mine has 7,300 miles on it, it only does it on the first cold start of the day, I just took it in yesterday and have the 7,500 mile service/inspection done on it and they are going to replaced the mufflers so they said. The 7,500 service/inspection is just a rip off, they charge you 100+ dollars to clean your battery cables lol...

hmmm...that's not as bad as the other rattle post. probably still pretty annoying though.

Yeah, my muffler has been replaced and it's still rattling on a cold start. Going aftermarket.

Infiniti doesn't fail. Warranty covered a brand new revised muffler for me.
Yeah I agree I didn't do the 7500 mile service I just got an oil change at 7500. In fact as per a TSB for VVEL knock - I got my VVEL software upgraded AND a free Nissan Ester Oil Change!

yeah its def not as bad as the common rattle many had which was like metal clanging...this one is just on a cold start and its just a buzzin' noise. i just got my muffler replaced with the revised model and the buzz is gone, YEY!!!!

You can hear it at 0:16 but it is most prominent beginning at 0:29 seconds.
