yeah but which can do more damage? Or for that matter which can do less damage to you? You hitting the cage w/a stick or your fist?
Either way, i think that although this match was interesting and definitely different from the current WEKAF style of fighting. I think the gear is to much focused on WEKAF style of competition and does not take into account punches to the face.

The sticks that were used at the tourney were not rattan and were rather soft and I just wanted to punch him in the face and those masks are really strong even a rattan isn't going to do much of anything.

i agree but you can use the stick for close range fighting as well i just think it's a far more effective weapon than a gloved up fist against a cage
