Episode 1 of Airline

Airline was a series produced by Yorkshire Television for the ITV network in 1982. It was created by Wilfred Greatorex and starred Roy Marsden as Jack Ruskin.

I have left the commercial breaks intact for added nostalgia value!

Leaving the RAF after World War II, Jack Ruskin decides to set up his own airline. Jack is prepared to bend every rule in the book to continue flying. Doing a deal with Ernie Cade to buy an aircraft, he enlists Peter Witney as co-pilot and Jock McEvoy as engineer. Cade is a notorious spiv, who can lay his hands on anything for the right price, Jacks dealings with Cade will be the cause of much trouble as the series unfolds. Other leading cast members were Polly Hemingway, Richard Heffer, Sean Scanlan and Terence Rigby.

Episode 1 - Look After Number One (3 January 1982)

In this first episode, Flt Sgt Jack Ruskin, still in the RAF and spending the final days of his wartime flying career bringing demobed servicemen home from India, encounters Sq Ldr Dickie Marlowe, who is intent on making his fortune smuggling goods from Germany for the black market. Jack gets drawn in.

Would You Consider Transfering These To Dvd.

I Would Be Prepared To Pay Your Price.

Contacted Yorkshire Itv But They Have No Plans Toe Release On Dvd

  • This theme would've been good for ITV's coverage of the World Cup in the 80s. You can just imagine clips of Maradona and Zico running across to this!

  • I watched this as a teenager, great show. Shame they didn't make the second planned series. Really enjoyed seeing this again.

  • A great programme - a very watchable drama. I remember from the original showing when one of the DC3's crashed off the runway!
