@JiaIreland Yes, this is the bigger problem than just mere intelligence. The stress that many black men get from all angles doing what some black people were practically all doing before hip-hop started representing us. There were intellectuals during even slavery times but blacks and whites have conveniently forgotten this.
@pinfold1000 Truly empower you you should take heed to. We need a diverse array of skills in our community! We need Chefs, engineers, teachers, and everything else we can get.
@pinfold1000 Having an MBA or a degree doesn't mean you have to work for someone else. You can use a lot of the knowledge you gain from college to start a business. There are other ways to gain knowledge of course like you said but I don't think the people you saw in that line represent the majority of black college graduates. Many nowadays take the skills they learned and eventually start their own businesses with them. Any way you can learn a skill or trade or profession that can
I stood in line with mba and ba's and bs grads in the unemployment line the early part of the years and to my knowledge as I'm a chef and poses Practical skills in a terminal economy that I can shop anywhere. Black men don't be sold a bill of goods! Spending 50 to 80 K a year?
on a education you can receive on a jr college or trade school level If you apply and not go into Debt. a mba does not make you unfireable. learn a trade we as a country are in a deficit of skilled labor. more money.
i know what the solution is!! take your black ass to school...too many brother want to avoid the "real" in life!! they just want money and think it will pop in your hand ..they think they will all earn a million dollar for doing nothing...aint nothing wrong with school...but brothers seem allergic to it..i know we got a lot going on in our lives being black men but you gotta man up and do what you got to do to excel in life!
i know this off topic bruh but i see u predicted amir khan by UD or a stoppage lol but the key to decreasing the dropout rate is more black instructors...i have that problem sometimes at my college..alot of times i just get tired of jumping through hoops for them...this whole year i only had 1 black instructor out of 9 classes..but you gotta want it at the end of the day
Solution 2: The social stigma in the black community when it comes to education needs to stop! I mean really if a black child is smart or likes school he/she is being called a sell out, trying to be white, or a uncle Tom. It's like for SOME black people they dont wanna see other blacks do well in school so they make fun of them and downplay education and equate it with trying to be white.
Solution 1: Better parenting, black parents need to and can step it up! I mean really many young black children don't have both parents in the house, then we've got these black parents who don't do a damn thing for their kids. They aren't supportive, they don't push there children to try harder and push them there basically is no support group. Many parents know they are in a failing school district but won't try and get there children into better school via vouchers and charter schools.
