  • @merchan5967 Its called working for what you earn not communist to each according to their needs blatant stealing

  • @Craigipedia One year later... and you were right all along.

  • These so-called conservatives are holding this country back. They are stuck in the 19th century. They don't seem to understand that countries are not unlike living things, in that they must evolve, change, and adapt to a changing world. When they don't they go the way of the dodo. Every devoloped country on earth has universal healthcare, and Republicans' unwillingness to allow us to get up with the rest of the world is mere arrogance and foolish pride. America needs to get off it's high horse.

  • olzt100 - I can't disagree with you. I love my country, but everything you said is true. We don't even KNOW the definition of "defense" in this country, for example. Actually we take after ISRAEL when it comes to that. Pre-emptive bombing and sanctioning of countries that have too many brown people.

  • Face the truth. America is country that openly and willingly wants to suppress the rights and opportunities of others so others can prevail and be advantaged over them. The constituton calls for equal citízenship and equal rights. The free market calls for equal opportunity of choice and vocational endeavor for personal economic success. America blew away those two concepts in 200 hundred short years.

  • Don't believe the hype. These "waiting periods" they try to scare you with are for minor things that are not time critical. And if you don't like waiting periods, most of these "socialised" countries still allow you to go private too. But for people who cannot afford private, waiting a few months to see a specialist is better than never seeing one because you are too poor.

Again I say : don't believe the hype. Its scare tactics.

  • Obama job approval = D+0R

    Where D = Dem support, R = Rep Support

He's just alienating his ONLY chance of support.

  • there's a great editorial on the new york times calling out republican lies like the one where the GOP claims that health care reform will add to the deficit. is a must read

  • Shopping across state lines only benefits the few minimally and is not a main solution. As for building free clinics and properly funding the current ones, I've heard nothing about this from either party. I hope you were as worried about things "costing less" when we went to war and continued to fund it year after year. As for taxes, the IRS needs to go, we need a fair tax system, not a flat one that the rich would love. Taxing a 30k earner the same as a 250k one is not what I would call fair.
