Definitely not an uppercut. You do want to swing slightly under the ball because since the ball is coming down at you from the top of the mound, you will hit grounders all day if you take level swings

@Blindykid He's not uppercutting at all. An uppercut is when your first movement is to drop your hands, which forces you to swing up. He's not doing that at all. In fact, his first movement is back and up with his hands, which is exactly what you're supposed to do. It just kind of looks like he's uppercutting because of the camera angle.

I dont get how as a kid (im 14) in babe ruth, upercutting or golfing the bat is frowned upon, but in the pros Josh Hamilton as shown here does it every pitch. I just don't get it
