@the430movie didn't you invaded their land in 1947 and again in 1967?aren't you doing genocide against them in the west bank???

what about the Israeli women and children killed in that bomb bus attack??? What about the unprovoked attack on Israel in during GW 1 with scud missiles??? they werent even involved... Israel never attacked the US like the Islamic extemist attack us.... then celebrated when we were attacked 9/11... The Arab nations have the Us to thank for alot of their wealth... You do get cash for your oil...

Please take it easy. I partly agree with you, but dont alienate the few scholars in the west who actually point out the injustices done to the palestinians. Your very uncompromising style will not lead to greater understanding in the west.
And although I completely disagree with Mr Shlaim regarding the Zionist Movement, he seems like a decent person man, and someone who is valuable in the struggle for a FREE Palestine.

Thank you Amy Goodman and Avi Shlaim. You R changing the way people see the Zionist Government of Israel. This adds to my repertoire of Robert Fisk, Ed Said, Norman Finkelstein, Noam Chomsky, B;tzelem and Haaretz.

What a shameful hypocrite!!! So, it was fine to murder & terrorise Palestinianians pre 1948 in order to effect 'ethnic cleansing' of Palestinian lands then but NO LONGER legitimate to carry out the same acts now. So it's okay to murder to steal one gold coin, but unconscionable to murder to steal 2? Oh I see.
What a shameful way to treat ones hosts where every where else your peaple were being persecuted and turned away from refuge. .
Avi Shlaim is the man, he has done a lot more for the Palestinian cause through his writings than most arab leaders
