  • not to take anything away from what he did,but did anyone else notice the one scene where he was doing 60mph in the low side?

  • I bet someone would get fired for doing that today "That was a great, noble thing you did, but it was against company policy to purposely cause an accident" or something similar

I know. "accident". Sad to say, a lot of these companies these days would find some regulation to hold a "preventable accident" accountable to the driver in the rear. The spirit of what I'm saying, back then companies were human, now it's a nasty machine

  • @roadwolf2 Spring brakes were not mandated until 1975 I beleive. considering this was 1984 there is a good chance they equipment was built prior to 1975 which would meant they didnt have spring brakes.

  • @roadwolf2 Not all truck are equiped with engine brakes. especially back then. That was 1984 and. Ive driven some class 8 trucks in modern day that were not equiped with an engine brake(Jake Brake). Gearing down and running an engine brake does slow you down but weighing 78,000lbs(they said his rig weighed 49 tons) and decending a steep mountian grade that alone will not hold you back without the use of foot brakes to bring down the RPM and speed to maintain control.

  • @roadwolf2 not if he only had single boosters

  • And if he lost his air the spring brakes should have applied

  • muy buena maniobra pero porque no freno con el freno de motor

  • friends like that are far and between , good thing they didnt have recapped tires because they took a beaten.
