He really HAS changed since Season 1

Ryan is, indeed, one of the funniest characters on the show, more so now than before. This is my personal opinion, but if ANY character gets any hate from me, it's Michael J. Scott. I understand it's just in his character, and I love that, I feel there's a lot of smart thinking behind Michael's character, but he can be really annoying at some times (which is again in his character).

I'm so glad this clip was uploaded. This is one of my favorite scenes from the show :)

It's amazing to think how in the first seasons, he was the shiest guy in the office, but after he came back, he is the complete opposite.

@MissNayNay not necessarily. she was a major supporting character starting season two.

@Tr1ploid That makes sense. Mindy Kaling, the actress that plays Kelly, is also a writer on the show. As a matter of fact, she wasn't supposed to be on the show initially, but the writers needed another minority on their episode called "Diversity Day." They needed an Indian person to slap Michael for being offensive. Kelly stayed, but she also isn't shown much on the show. She kind of stays in the background, too. It wasn't until last season that she started to get more air time.

I like to think that Ryan gets punched in the face on a daily basis.
