Well. Here it is. KINGDOM HEARTS: Chain of Memories.
I swear the creators of this game are on drugs. I love the intro - how they were able to fit that cinematic onto the GBA is way beyond me. But that's only ONE (!) of the nice technical features on the game. The artists really outdid themselves with the detail on the sprites of the game. Anyways. It hasn't been said in a while, but I know you've been all anticipating those two words:
RECAP TIME!!!!!!!!!!
So there is the intro. I played the game for 11 minutes. Just to get a little taste of it before the playthrough.
Sadly the recorder only allowed for 15 frames/second as opposed to the 24 fps the 3d cinematic is. It then gets trippy and strange by saying all of this really vague and benign stuff. You then see a girl drawing pictures. Then you see a really nifty looking castle. Told you they were on drugs. You then see the inside of the castle as it's the only place they could actually find. They suspect that the king (Mickey Mouse) is inside. The character Sprites of Donald and Goofy move their mouths when they talk. Sora has no mouth. Poor Sora. Some creepy stalker guy in a black robe appears and scares the crap out of our Three protagonists. And Mr. Black Robe says that they're in Casle Oblivion and starts with all of this philosophical and metaphoric mumbo jumbo. They then learn that they have a chance to find their old friends. And B.R. says that he made a door out of their memories. No action yet. But there will be. Oh, there will be. Traverse Town is revealed.
The story so far: *MAJOR SPOILERS*
Sora, Donald and Goofy are lost. They go down a seemingly neverending path until they go for a rest. Sora sees a black robed figure, who tells him that something he needs is ahead but he needs to lose something close to him in order to reach it. A girl is shown drawing a castle with crayons which appears in Sora's sight. They were looking for their king and friends and they seemed to have gut feelings that they were inside. But yet it seemed empty. Goofy looks behind him and sees the black hooded figure Sora saw earlier, but Sora doesn't seem to recognize him. Donald assumes that he is a heartless and tries to attack him with Thunder, but then realizes that his magic is out of order. The hooded figure tells them that they forgot all that they have learned since they have stepped foot in the castle, ability wise, at least. He mentions that they're in Castle Oblivion and in there something is always found when something else is lost, and the other way around; and that he will reunite with people he knew. And tells Sora that if he wanted to find his friend, he would have to follow his memories. The cards will guide him along the way.
