The intermingling of actual space-shot footage with the performers mimicking the real thing is interesting and ahead of its time.

When the real rockets blasted off from Cape Canaveral in Florida, however, there was never snow falling, as shown here. I can't say if that was true for rockets in Russia, though.

Cheesy, but cute...Very '50s -- Too bad it had the ship blowing up at the beginning...too reminiscent of Challenger...I was expecting maybe it was aliens landing on earth bringing peace, love & go-go!!!
