Analog ribbon synthesizer. Uses the circuit from a Korg Monotron and a customized 18" ribbon with reversible direction. Only 3/4" deep. Runs on rechargeable batteries. Built from MDF and acrylic.
There's no DC transformer; everything in the circuit runs from two AAA rechargeable batteries, accessed by removing a plate from the back of the unit.
I plan on making a second one, but would prefer to sell locally in the LA area. I could be convinced otherwise, though. The price would be around $300 plus shipping.
I wouldn't take payment for a schematic; I believe in open-sourcing ideas. But there are hardly any plans. The monotron already has a ribbon, so I removed it and replaced it with a big one, soldering at the same connection points. But I'll log the process, put it on my website and provide the link in the video description above.
would you make one of these to order and if so, how much? Also, what is the monotron plugged into - or is it a dc output? Cheers :)

@stexe well, I'll definitely think about that... or plans perhaps for dollars? :)
