My third video review, for the Wii version of The Price is Right.

I finally figured out how to hook up the video feed to my old computer so the colors will stop flickering. Of course, where one problem is fixed, another pops up: the audio is now extremely hot, to the point of being clipped. It doesn't help that my narration came in rather soft this time around, either.

If this is the first video review of mine you've seen, my scoring system is a little unorthodox. It starts with four technical scores (Presentation, Play Control, Plot, Challenge), which are each worth to 10 points. I then give up to 40 points as a Personal Score, based on how much I enjoyed the game. The maximum score is 80 points; over 40 is average, over 60 is excellent, and under 30 is bad.

As always, constructive feedback is welcome. My next review will probably have more of a retro flavor; Secret of Mana just came out for Virtual Console, so that may end up being the next subject unless something big crosses my path.

  • And now there's The Price is Right: Decades, which actually has retired games.

  • @HYEYBT That's really the only selling point. (Well, that and the fact that Miis have FINALLY been implemented into the game.)

Decades is even more thrown together than the other Ludia games I've already eviscerated. There's no excitement whatsoever, the voiceover is generic, the multiplayer modes are downright half-assed in execution and even the flavor videos aren't very interesting.

  • this is not the first time tpir has been on a video game system, it was out for Nintendo Years ago

  • @glennesau Incorrect. There were some (very low-quality) home versions for PCs, but none for home consoles until 2009.

  • is there online so you can price is right with other people around the world

  • Nope. TPIR is purely an in-home affair.
