@Bosphorus92 this is a dumbass thing to say, i'm sorry but from any perspective - musician's/recording engineer's its just why even type it. cats is hot, shit its ok to put down your pride.
@hollayyy no problem...sometimes writing gets confusing. 2/3 is not a time signature. It is an afro cuban pattern played in 2/4 or 6/8. I would highly suggest that you get Heratio " ElNegro " Hernadez book "Conversations in Clave' that will explain it all...as will listening to all the great music of Cuba and Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic et al. Good luck.
@goatsonacid420 you guys are both confused. "claves" or "clave" are two sticks of wood struck; but more important the CLAVE is a rhythmic pattern as well. In either 3/2 or 2/3 (Rhumba or Son) that is the heartbeat of all Afro Cuban music and in this instance Stantons groove as well. The clave can be played on anything ie a cowbell, cross stick snare, cymbal. hi hat bass drum ect. Dont confuse the instrument (a pair of claves) with the pattern.

@TheBigRoll Not to hate or anything, but I'm a bit confused. I don't think there's a such thing as 1/3 notes, so how could 2/3 be a time signature?
