Too bad the quality is lacking in this vid but the argument she presents is the "Original" intent of 2nd amendment. Good Job she did on this presentation where can I find the full version?

So your going to ban forks for making people fat too, right?

Best argument on the issue on youtube.

I ran out of room to type. The right to bear arms is an individual right and does not relate to membership in a militia or army. The reference to "well regulated militia" refers to the outcome of the debate over state militias vs a standing federal army. Go back and read some of the writings of the Founders and you'll see that their intent was to clearly protect the right of the individual to bear arms.

You seem to be a smart person but I don't really know what your opinion is. What point were you trying to make in correcting my info?

Very articulate comment; unfortunately it's off the mark. The "well regulated milita" line is perhaps the most misunderstood and misapplied phrase in the Constitution. It appears only because the Founders argued over the philosophy of keeping a standing federal army vs state militias. They ultimately decided that a standing army would be a threat to the security of a free state and thus the concept of well regulated state militias should be supported.

"A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state..." I think we should obey the second amendment. If people really feel like they need to rise up and defend their state from the oppression of the federal government and/or that of another state or country, they should do so in a well-regulated militia. Because that's what the American Revolution was all about. It's everyone's right to do so. That's what people against gun control argue right? Oh, wait...
Guns don't kill people. People kill people. We don't outlaw cars because some people drive drunk. The Founders realized that in order to retain and defend their liberty, a free people must be prepared to defend themselves from government tyranny.

Guns will always, always be available. It's important that they be available to the right people. If it weren't for guns, they'd be playing "God Save the Queen" at the opening of baseball games.
