Kilometroetako 2002ko abestia, Estitxu Sudupe abeslariaren Uga taldearen eskutik, Elkarren beharrean izenburuarekin.
The song used for the feast Kilometroak to promote the use of the basque language in the Basque Country.

Hitzak:

Oraina dugu biharko oinarri,
bakarka ezin, geroa eraiki, indarrak batu,
ados jarri, eskuak luzatuz, elkarri.

Kilometroak, euskera bultzatuz,
Kilometroak, etorkizuna aurrean,
Kilometroak, testigua hartuz,
Kilometroak, ELKARREN BEHARREAN.

Asmo (e)ta nahiak egi bihurtzeko
IKASTOLAK du hainbat egiteko.
Ez etsi erronka aurrean
baikaude ELKARREN BEHARREAN.

Translation of the lyrics:

The present is the base of the future.
We can not build the future alone, gather strength,
reach agreement, giving our hand, each other.

Kilometres, promoting the Basque language
Kilometroak, the future in front of us
Kilometroak, taking the baton
Kilometroak, needing from each other.

To make true the intentions and the desires,
the school has much to do.
Do not give up in front of the challenge,
because we need from each other.

Basque language is the older speaking language of today. Some people still thinks that Basque language come from Latin language, but that´s an error. Spanish language, french language, italian languages, those languages come from the old Latin language, yes, but the Basque language does not come from latin. Most people know that english language, german language, dutch language, come from those called old germanic language, but the basque language is older that those old germanic and latin languages. Before Latin and Germanic languages existed, Basque language was in use on the ancient europe. The Basque language is a pre-Indo-European language, supossed to come from somewhere in the eastern Europe, but it is known that the Basque languge is old than the first spoken languages in Europ, older than Latin and Germanic languages. So it is impossible to think that the Basque language is a dialect from spanish or french languages, because the Basque language is older than Latin, Germanic, or ancient Greek languages, being the Basque language older the those languages called European ancient languages.
Kilometroak is the name of a feast in the Basque Country, celebrated every year, with the purpose of promoting the actual use of the Basque language on the opressed non-independent country called Basque Country in english (Euskal Herria in the native language).
