Chinese Recognition Of Senkaku Islands As Being Part Of Okinawa, Japan

In a letter sent to Japanese fishermen who rescued a number of shipwrecked Chinese in 1920 by a Chinese Consul Feng Mien (馮冕) in Nagasaki, Japan,

representing the Beiyang Government, a warlord regime, reference was made to "Senkaku Islands, Yaeyama District, Okinawa Prefecture, the Empire of Japan".

The letter implies Chinese recognition of the islands as being part of Okinawa, instead of Taiwan.

Yaeyama Museum in Ishigaki Island Okinawa stores the original.
