Margot died of Typhus at Bergen Belsen, Anne died too later on that month. Germans were blood thirsty Nazis then. @duckman531 - perhaps 1989 when the iron curtain fell? Denmark was still rationing coffee in 1953 and they had only been occupied. I saw the ration coupons myself at a Danish museum.

German viewers of a certain age, when would you say Germany economically recovered from the War? When did you notice that things were improving in Germany after, I'd say, 1949?
