  • I see you make the same classic mistake as many other reformed church ... singing starts 3 notes behind the organ, the rhythm of the song is continually lost between lines ... this drives me nuts in our church as well urgh!!!!

  • @mkottelenberg

Hmmm.... three notes.... I assume quarter notes....? I don't hear that delay when I play this back.

You are correct, there is a delay and that has to do with the majority of the audience being from various congregations that are used to a delay. You can't change the singing of people on the fly.

Interesting that you thing that the rhythm is lost between the lines: what rhythm are you talking about? There is a beat, or a pulse, and that does not get lost...

  • quite fast but I think americans sing the psalsm faster than we are used to do in the Netherlands.

  • Try clapping or tapping to the music and you will notice the delay. We have it in our church as well and it is very frustrating.

All that said, you are a magnificent organ player. I have heard you do a solo and enjoyed it very much ... especially since you made beautiful music come from just playing out of the psalm book ... impressive.

In some churches, they have given the congregations lessons on how to keep the rhythm while singing. It helps a lot!

  • Thank you frankezinga ! Wonderful accompanying and a wonderful singing congregation ! I love accompanying a congregation that sings loud and strong !! Thank you !

  • De la merde! Une bonne chorale et voir si BACH... Ici em... et boff!
