i think the mayans she is talking about and the mayans today are two different peoples. there are possibly 3 or 4 civilizations and what we know of was a remnant of the previous and did not make the move just as some people here now will not make the transfer and stay in this vibration.
The Mayans did not "disappear". I work and drink coffee with them every day where I live in Chiapas, Mexico. They may even be the majority of the Guatemalan population. In Chiapas's Zapatista movement, almost all of the soldiers were Mayan, and many of the commanders. (For example. "Ramona", who I believe was from San Andrés Larrainzar. For a good book on all this, see June Nash's "Mayan Visions".
