It doesn't look like the tiles are really "randomized" that much, I gotta wonder how much shuffling goes on inside before the tiles are arranged... (o_O)

The top (the colored section) is slightly magnetic. The bottom is not. The tiles stick to the top of the 'basin' where the tiles are spinning around. You can see this in action when the basin turns. It is on the upper side of the basin.

The tiles are magnetic on one side. A magnet on the loader likely makes the tile flip to the correct side just from the poles lining up properly ^_^
