  • I love the chrome! Could you specify the values to achieve that nice looking chrome?

  • @ErrorDeSintaxe Thanks for the comment. The chrome material is all about the environment that it reflects. The material is a preset from Modo's library. Diffuse 25% (nearly black), Specularity 75%, Fresnel 90%, Reflection amount 75%. The scene is also from Modo's preset library which has a nice mix of both lights and darks. Hope that helps.

  • Great technique! The effect turned out a little too strong for the project i'm doing (bike frame) but I'll try to follow the workflow and see if I can get good results with smoother welds.

    This looks really, really good though.

  • Thanks. You might want to explore using replicators to achieved the welds. If I had to do it again, I'd really consider it. Basically just construct one weld shape and replicate it around the pipes you want to "weld". Pretty slick.
