This is my (complete novice rider) husbands first ride on the Mare "Stars March". Star has just returned from the trainer who broke her into saddle, so she too is a novice. There was so much snow and ice outside, that riding for now is limited to small walks around the inside of the small barn.

Actually, quite the opposite. She loves the bit - we got her a sweet iron bit with copper inserts and the horses go mad over the taste of them which is why she's always chewing and sucking on it. It was the horses off to the side she didn't care for much, even to the point of humping her behind in a threat to kick them through the gate.

Star is beautiful too. You can tell she doesn't care for the bit that much LOL!

She does seem happy to be ridden now. The only issue is as you could see there, she was being a cranky battle axe to the other horses nearby, even down to threatening them with her back end. We both thought it was pretty funny.
