  • Go Paul Go!

The only guy that will represent the little guy, the middle and lower working classes AND not try to take all your guns away.

  • @TropikalWaves as if the woods were somehow separate from reality....geesh, that makes me feel bad for you. City live is a soul-sucking cess-pool. When's the last time you heard the blissful, empowering SILENCE of the woods?

Get your ass some Walden- one of the best books written by an American.

  • @TropikalWaves should marijuana be legal? Why or why not?

  • @tristramshandy3: You miss the mark again...WHO was persecuting the Puritans, for instance, the neighbors down the street?? No, the rulers. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go earn money, so that I can support tree-huggers like you spending the day in the woods playing Robin Hood (just KIDDING...I couldn't resist!)

  • @TropikalWaves and the government, via supreme court case CITIZENS UNITED, has said that corporations can essentially TAKE OVER and spend UNLIMITED amounts of money. That decision needs to be reversed ASAP.

The people who go to DC will work for the people/interests that got them elected. If big oil gives someone 10 million, and they win the election, that person HAS to work for big oil- they don't have a choice.

So, if taxpayers fund the elections, the reps might work for the people.

    Adios.

  • @tristramshandy3: How we begin to truly solve the problem of special interests having a disproportionate influence in politics, I'm not certain right now. Most corporations have to play by the rules dictated by governments...a relatively "few" exert control on the process. Your current buddy is no different...Solyndra [sp?] and a number of other green companies bought their way into some sweet government contracts. We probably agree on some of the problems but not solutions

  • @TropikalWaves wow, a post I agree with. So we can agree that big money pollutes our politics. Great! Now, what can we do about it? I support taxpayer funded elections, and mandated free, equal airtime on the publically owned airwaves,

    YOu got a better idea?

  • @TropikalWaves should I be allowed to smoke a joint in my house? Should marijuana be legal? Yes or no, and why or why not? Thanks!

  • @tristramshandy3: Corporations played a hand in many of our ancestors being able to sail to the New World. The Virginia Company and the Plymouth Company were two such well known stock companies. I am uncomfortable with certain money interests being able to directly influence our politicians, whether it be a rich person or corporation. It takes a lot of $ to advertise oneself, if you don't have name recognition. Politicians naturally become beholden to spec. intrsts
