Lol nice animation but the question remains... It this a real system? because if you happened to have passengers or cargo in the back not much of it would be left over i guess...

@skydive911 as you can see in the description, "Escape system to help eject a TEST PILOT on the PC-12 in the unlikely event of an uncontrollable flight condition.".

We were given the problem of designing an emergency egress system by Pilatus Aircraft in Switzerland after a tour of their facility with our college.

We mainly used the exercise as an opportunity to learn how to model and animate concepts in Solidworks and this was our first attempt after 2 weeks of self learning.

@orbazm Yeah test pilot... i got that. My idea was they were going to put this through in the industry like on scheduled flights. But i take that as a "no". ;)

Still for exiting you (or the pilot) would most probably hit the wing of the aircraft upon exit wouldn't you?

Really sweet animation, i know it took a lot of work, well done. The actuator looks great.
