Well I live in QLD and I can tell you it IS like this... Go out west and see properties like the one shown - go to the coast and see the beautiful beaches - just down the road is a golf course that ALWAYS has Kangaroos on it (can be painful at times LOL) and just a short drive west of here is a Great little country pub that looks just like the one at the very beginning of the ad..... GREAT AD!!

I can't believe how much shit Australians are copping for this ad, and others like it. For starters we aren't a bunch of gunslinging farming racists. Quite the opposite with Australia having some of the toughest gun laws, majority of us living in metropolitan cities and the country with the most sophisticated cultural integration in the world.

This ad has been made to sell Australia to the rest of the world, NOT to sell Australia to Australia. I believe everyone in Australia is focusing way too much on the over-exaggeration of Australia stereotypes. Why? It exaggerates positive traits of this beautiful land in order to sell to those around the world that don't know otherwise. so shut up.

@MrHomesapien nah there are heaps of different kinds of Australian accents. There's the Julia Gillard and Paul Hogan 'Aussie' accent - that everyone all over the world thinks we all talk like. There is the Wog-Australian accent, Hispanics, Greeks, Italians and Lebanese, which is the funniest fucking thing to listen to, and there is the normal Aussie accent which is less of a Crocodile Dundee bogan drawl and a more relaxed British accent.
