  • You did an awesome job! I haven't seen most of those pictures for years...I miss my boys :( Thanks for posting!

  • @Scotch7000 There's a difference between evolving and completely changing your music. In the end it all comes down to taste. Metallica are one the bands that DID experiment and change their sound so that just proves that change doesn't mean anything by itself. Change is easy. Writing good songs isn't.

  • @HoosierMF change is good. imagine if the beatles had never had the balls to do sgt peppers because they feared it wouldnt sell or the fans wouldnt like it. or if pink floyd had never experimented and subsequently made dark side of the moon.

my point is change is what drives music forward, as well as all art, technology, science and by extension pretty all of human advancement. getting kinda deep i know, but im right so fuck it.

  • @HoosierMF im not saying that all bands that do the same thing every album are shit, just that you shouldnt write a band off just because they try somehting new. that said i like slayers early stuff (reign in blood, seasons in the abyss etc) but now im just bored with them because it the same shit over and over. then you have a band like metallica who, lets face it, has gone down the shitter because theyre too stubborn to admit that maybe theyre kinda beating a dead horse.

  • @Scotch7000 No change is not good. Good is good. There are loads of bands who stuck to the same style and kept on making great songs. AC/DC, Ramones, Slayer, Bad Religion, Misfits, Sick Of It All, Pantera etc etc.

  • @RedEyesAndLongHair how about i just felt like having a bitch?

  • @HoosierMF if you dont like it then you dont like it i guess, but my problem is when people rag on it simply because its different from freakshow or frogstomp or even diorama, and therefore they dont even give it a look in. which is just retarded because change is good. its important that artists push themselves and try to grow.

  • @Scotch7000 In many peoples eyes they ARE just like every other mainstream band. Sure they're the same people but I'm not going to pretend to like music I think sucks just because the band used to be good.

  • @RedEyesAndLongHair correct me if im wrong but i am pretty sure you just summed up 90% of communication over the internet. so yes, its very much in style.

  • @HoosierMF i love their older stuff too. but this idea that there are two silverchairs - the old one and the new one - is fucking ridiculous. theyre the same people, and all these "old silverchair" fans should just be greatful that as a band theyre being creative trying new things artistically rather than churning out the same shit every album to ensure sales. otherwise theyd just be sickening like every other commercial mainstream band.
