Shooting Armalite AR-50 50 BMG, Ruger Target Mini-14 .223, & Kel-Tec SU-16-A .223

This is my first time shooting the Armalite AR-50 50 BMG with some friends in Southern Oregon. We were only sighting it in at 100 yards (it's really meant to shoot 1,000 yards or more), but it was a lot of fun. Recoil is probably on-par with a 12-gauge shotgun (or less), but the muzzle break creates quite a concussion for people standing to the sides of the rifle.

Also featured is my buddys Kel Tec rifle (an accurate and handy rifle with a built-in bi-pod in the front forearm) and my other buddys Ruger Mini-14 Target rifle (featuring the ability to dial-in/tune the barrel vibration for better accuracy).

Sorry about all the laughing. I really thought the muzzle blast and concussion were rather hilarious.

@seedlessstrainz The guys at the local official club are nearing completion of the 1,000 yard range. I can't wait. Shooting at 100-300 yards is getting pretty lame. However this was the best distance we could find in a pinch and it was our first time shooting the Armalite.

how is the accuracy on the mini 14 target version?

If you take the time and tune the harmonic damper to your round, you'll get .5 MOA out of it easliy..

It's a VERY accurate rifle..  Love mine...

@idotman12 A little rough because of the solid stock. 50 isn't too bad-- you shoot less ammo and so you spend about as much as shooting a ton of AR or AK ammo.
