Jewel, disguised as a mild mannered businesswoman, drops by a local karaoke bar and performs some of her classic songs to a completely dumbfounded audience. Check out Jewel's new album, Sweet and Wild and her new single "Satisfied".

  • i admire Jewel, she's so sweet

  • I've been trying to do this for years. The only problem is that I can't seem to get famous. As soon as I do though... I'm putting on a freaking wig and singing my own songs somewhere. Which reminds me... I need some songs.

  • Jewel is so great for doing this.. she is awesome.. Love her...

  • whats the number for 911....I just saw JEWEL "Foolish Games" 1998 ,now my heart keeps skipping beats......

  • @NChin241

I've actually seen that doc. lol. And Steve Poltz doesn't describe anything about the construction of the song that Jewel couldn't describe herself. Also, the RIAA lists Poltz and Jewel as co-writers, with equal ownership. And moreover, Mr Poltz had nothing to do with her other hits, including Foolish Games (& Who Will Save Your Soul, for that matter). If I were a middle-aged songwriter, whose career had never reached the heights of co-writers, I'd be bitter about it too.

  • would have been better if they artist who had more well known songs. i dunno maybe its just me who didn't know the songs

  • @JamieLeeCurtiz

All you need to have done was do a little research.

There is a 2006 documentary "Before The Music Dies" which has Steve Poltz describing at length about him being principle song writer, chords and melody included. Aside from that the RIAA has easily acessible and public filings of song ownership, all you need to have done was look it up.

"You Were Meant For Me" was written almost exclusively by Steve Poltz"

Except of course that it sounds almost identical in style to many of her other songs which did not involve Mr Poltz at all... And I'm pretty sure you have no evidence of what you claim, in the least...unless you were hiding under a table in the room, when they were writing it. lol

  • wish I had been there.....

  • "I wrote a song when I was 18, and here we are years later and like a whole bar..."

lol, "You Were Meant For Me" was written almost exclusively by Steve Poltz.

  • this is great! thats what I would do if I were famous.

  • voice and face of an angel. Congrats on her first baby boy.
