The USC Network Culture Project recently challenged the residents of Second Life to imagine new ways that virtual worlds could be used to make a contribution to the public good. Draxtor Despres is filing a report in 3 parts.

  • I decided to mark the previous comments by a Norwegian fellow by the name of slask666 as spam since the discourse deteriorated quite a bit.

  • Funny how they try to showcase Second Life as something houseclean when in reality it's a virtual world for all the worlds sickos, pervs and lowlifes. To count all the sexclubs, furries, pedo clubs, extreme sex communites and all the other sick shit this so-called game got is daunting. It's a breeding ground for all the basement dwellers that like all this perverted crap and suddenly they can find like-minded individuals. Google babywolfie and see for yourself. That is just one of them oO

  • slask, please refrain from these immature comments. SL has done a lot for "REAL" people: it allows them to overcome isolation and stigma, it enables everyone to learn about other cultures and interact with them. The platform is an enabler for creative people, who had otherwise no outlet. If some choose to dress up as furries, what is the issue with that? It seems to me you were possibly hanging out at the wrong spots in SL....mmmhhh, wonder what your priorities are :)D

  • the 3D Space Navigator and a lot of patience are a good combination for getting smooth shots in SL....patience more important than the device I'd say :)

  • rik, the dragon footage ended up on the cutting room floor for time issues, not visual stunningness :)

  • please keep tuned in as this is the first part of a 3-part series. and i'm sure you know where to go for higher quality downloadable files, right?

  • I do enjoy the why you put things Draxtor.

  • This is very good Draxtor, I look forward to see your upcoming works. Always a pleasure to work with you.

  • so ppl make money in a synthetic life... super nerds unite! --no... seriously though, this virtual network that encompases many folks around the world is a great idea. I guess in this world, the pros is that you can do things there that you couldn't in real life. But when I think of this, I can image all the people glued in front of their computers.. that's the con. I guess with this wide freedom of imagination also comes more danger. Oh well, the "Gods" of this world are human... nice vid btw!!

  • The issue with the furries is that they promote illegal acts aka sex with animals. Isolation is easy to overcome, get the fuck out and meet people and get your lazy ass off the computer chair. SL might try well and all that but the fact is that its a bloody magnet to all those sickos letting them have an outlet for all their little perversities. They let people roleplay kids to be molested for fucks sake. Everyone with a lick of sense would've banned those idiots long time ago.

  • Fine Work indeed Thank you :-)

  • good ;)

  • BAHH!

They've breached the walls, run for your life. OH GOD, IT'S AFTER ME, OH GOD!!!!
