  • @gigantes1966 There is no such thing as a traditional dance to one song, each Halau, which is a dance group, has a different way of doing it because copying is rude. But i will most definitely upload it, im recording it now, should be up soon.

    I dont know how much you know about hula so i put the meanings in there just to be sure, im not trying to be rude. Thanks for posting this song, its beautiful!

  • @KaitKatt, thanks. did not know that. cool. looking forward to your video...

  • oh Hawaii, why can't Canada look like you?

  • @BananaToothpasty ,

    canada is beyond beautiful IME, but maybe not if you dislike the cold?

    @nan33mar ,

    only if you agree to give me a facepalm for being an idiot.

  • I don't know the exact translation but from what I remember from hula - in this last verse we are watching the sunset after a fun day of collecting limu (ka ulu wehi) from the ocean (kai). This is such a fun hula and when Hapa performed in Oregon, lots of women from the audience got up on stage and danced. Might be something they do at all their touring concerts.

  • @gigantes1966 .. it would be the "Aua'na" modern style ... the correct moves will be the search through the local Kumu Hula's .. "Hula Instructors" or Local Hawaiian Dance studio's .. they would know.

  • One of my favorites Hawaiian songs

  • @TheIslandhunnie What exactly is Kauna? I googled this to try to understand what you are saying and could not find anything. Thanks! Ooops, I mean MAHALO.

  • I just stumbled upon this video and I'm so addicted to this song! The harmony is just so beautiful. I listen over and over and can't get enough. Trying to memorize the lyrics now. Hapa is coming to my area in March (Grass Valley, CA) and I'm going to see them for sure!

  • Beautiful song, I can listen to it over and over. Thanks for posting it.

  • @choosing2lookeast If you're going to the March 25th Show in Philly see ya there! Mahalo! :-)

  • Wonderful song. I'm going to see Hapa perform in March 2012. I can hardly wait!

  • Reminds me of Jennie And D.J. on Molokai!!!

  • Not one picture of Maui

  • @khinkley1 ..Yes you understand the real meaning of a kauna to this song....mahalo for your posting

    Not too many people understand that this song is actually inappropriate for young ladies to dance to this song because of the kauna to this song....thats why when I read that a 6th grade class danced to this song I was appalled...I am greatful that there is some one who really understands the olelo and explained it well..mahalo Khinkley
