Here is the next part in my series about comic coloring, however, due to its length and my crummy computer, I've had to cut it in half. This is the first part, the second part will be along shortly. I'll probably post the whole thing somewhere else, but I'll link it here when I get it up.

  • Can you do that in Photoshop CS5?

  • @lucija123451 Yes, you can. The process is identical.

  • Here is a better idea, use a drawing tablet, because it is like drawing and inking on paper, and it takes a hell of a lot less time.

  • Having done both, its not really that much faster and gives to a lot more errors in base flats. Also, not everyone has a tablet who wants to color comics. This tutorial isn't about tablets.

  • Super informative, post part 3 please!

  • You do what I do, Or similar. Whenever I name layers I name it "Clothes Base" "Hair Base" then "Hair Shade" " clothes shade". Great tutorial very clear and step by step for starters

  • wow thank you so much! i cant wait for part 2

  • Using the polygon lassoo tool is a slow way to make a selection, have you tried multifill?

  • Isn't it better to use channels? The files get huge with so many layers no?
